What I Learned from Having a Secondary F2P Account

I know this post is long overdue, but I’m just now getting around to writing my thoughts. So here we go.

First off, I wanted to revisit a point I made in my partners strategy post last week. What I’ve personally found to be the biggest difference between F2P and P2P is how quickly you progress through the game. Or in other words, the more money you put into the game the faster you level up. Or in other other words, power in LOP is the same across the board. It’s not that VIP are “more powerful” then F2Ps, they have just reached that power level faster because they have more resources available to them as a kick back for paying those wonderful devs. 😏 All of that to say, being a F2P LOP player requires a lot of time and effort, particularly if you compete with those stronger VIPs.

Which leads me to my second point, and the main reason why I stopped playing my F2P account, I just don’t have the time to maintain it. 🤦🏻‍♀️ And well, to be honest, I just love the people on my P2P server more. Kind of being forced to be a guild leader when I had no vision for a guild anymore was a big deterrent too, but it all came back to time demands for me. Since I personally only have so many minutes in a day to myself, it’s easy to hop on and update my P2P every couple of hours because it takes five maybe ten minutes. But when you have two accounts, that ten minutes easily becomes twenty and well it just bothered me. 😅 It also got confusing at times since I had two different partner strategies going, and I would be in the middle of updating one account and then all of sudden forget which one I was in and put the wrong partner into the study or sent a letter to a different confidant. 😫

Anyway, third point, being an F2P on one account really forced me to figure out what I wanted to spend my ingots on. And since I had originally set out to test strategies on said account, that was usually where my ingots went. It was tricky at times, because even though I had my paid account and could get anything I wanted there, I still suffered from FOMO on the F2P. 🙈 The challenge of saving up enough ingots for special events and upgrading my account was a blast, but my problem of trying to prove myself to people caused me to be a little undisciplined in my spending habits. 😏 All of that to say, as a F2P, I had to be choosy and determine what worth the cost of ingots more often. Did I want another Duke token from QOB or that dress from the limited event? As such, I tended to take advantage of those free points during special events, waiting until the last day to decide what I truly wanted to get. Great test of patience. 😂

Final thing I learned, I have a great appreciation for all the players who have multiple accounts and maintain both a F2P and P2P. I admire their dedication and the more free time they have available at their disposal to maintain all their accounts. 😅 Especially when those F2P accounts have more momentum than me. 🤣 It always keeps me on my toes and makes me a better player.
