I Think I Found My New LOP… 😅
So about three weeks ago now, I watched an ad in LOP a couple of times, ANNNND of course I was curious to see if the ad was anywhere close to reflecting the actual game play. (It was like spotting creepy elements in otherwise normal pictures.) ANNND no it wasn’t that… It’s actually something extremely engaging.
The game I am talking about is Tokyo Debunker. (TKDB for short?)
It’s one of those RPG/ SSR attack games, but personally my appeal stems from the dark academia story. 😅 AND the story is truly the main feature! 👏👏👏 (My writer senses are tingling!) It’s probably obvious, but why I say it’s my new LOP is because— Well it’s incredibly similar to LOP, duh. 🙃
You get to read a “choose-your-adventure” story, “date” ghouls, and level your ghouls up for fighting anomalies or other players/guilds! Aside from the aforementioned focus of the game devs in TKDB being the story, your ghoul stack is randomized. Which as a strategist is pretty interesting, especially as an F2P. (After all the money I’ve put into LOP, I just can’t do it for TKDB… It’s VERY VERY tempting, but too risky because of the randomized summoning, IMHO. That and I know what’s going to happen a year from now… 😏)
Anyway, as a F2P, while I’m trying my darnedest to not be a contrarian to the collective wisdom of seasoned players, I am curious if like in LOP, power is power at the end of the day. TKDB does have a balance of elements factor in addition to each ghoul having their own skill set which differs greatly from LOP and requires literal team building skills… BUT since everyone’s stack is randomized, I as the player have little control over what ghoul I’m going to summon/fully awaken. All of that to say, if you never put a dime into the game and THEN funnel your available resources into an SSR when you eventually summon one, without untraining any of the lower level R pawns, does that make you more of a force to be reckoned with? 🤷🏻♀️ I’m going to find out, while also gleaning wisdom from the unoffical player guides and my guildies! Anyway, I’ll chat more about it next month once I have some more experience beneath me. See you then!
