Yes, I finally went for Erudite. Due to Lent, I was unintentionally holding through two cycles of quick rank events and you know thought I would drop my 4T EXP goose egg I was sitting on. 😅 The sad part: it still was not enough to get all of my top 8 to level 400. 😩 Making progress, though. (Side note: I did calculate how much it would take to get the remainder to level 400 and found I would need to have 7.2T to pull that off in one sitting. 🤯) And by the end of the event, I only had an 18.3M power increase. While every bit of power helps towards DOM, I don’t regret gaining that much now instead of in a couple weeks. I’m excited for this next CS cycle, as I’m eager to crack open the rest of my nest egg. The one I’ve been sitting on since February. 😅
But as I’ve been holding, and particularly in the past couple of weeks, it did get me thinking about attempting to go for the CS titles. 💭 I’m sure I'll stick with my original resolution this year to not be bothered with it... It’s just so tempting with the drop off in players!! TBH though, that’s the real reason I’m hesitant to go for it. As one of the few powerful active players left in the guild, I feel like if I don’t power up regularly, it’s going to hurt us on a whole. Or maybe I’m just seeing the effects of not powering regularly personally, as in the people I usually have no problem picking off in debate or field are now more of a challenge. 😅 All that to say once again, DOM can’t come soon enough for me right now.
The Ingenious Bamboo Builds! (AKA the semi-annual (?) palace repair event.) As much as I liked the new palace and home decor skins, I’m still recovering ingot wise from the Anniversary Event and some other event here recently. Was it the Lu Yu one? 🤔 I don’t remember... There was something I ended up dropping more ingots than I anticipated to get something. Oh well. So I decided to get Land decorations! Which leads me to the Bamboo Fun game. 😒
It literally took me all seven days to get the hang of it. 😂 I didn’t spend too many ingots to meet the daily requirement, but man if I messed up once it was game over! 😩 I found the technique that worked best for me was clearing the bamboo stick just about after every use. (There were always exceptions.) If I tried leaving it up, sure enough the carrot or apple or the bamboo nut would get on it and it was impossible for me to course correct. One other technique I found useful was trying to consistently place the bamboo sticks in the middle of the screen. It seemed to always do me well, giving me enough room to stack sticks and clear them as needed. I just ran into too many difficulties placing them below the arbitrary “center” line I drew.
I enjoyed this Palace Repair event maybe a little more than previous ones. It just felt more laid back, but maybe that’s because I was only interested in less expensive items from the point shop. I was really hoping I’d get lucky with the random boxes from the “Bamboo Fun” area, but no. No, no. I got like 3 logs, a lamp, water square, a path square and the swing! The swing was nice! I was just hoping to get one of the larger items so I wouldn’t have to spend points on it. 😏
Wait, that's it! The real reason I’m looking forward to DOM. I WANT TO DECORATE MY LAND!! 🤣 I’m getting antsy over here!
