How to Not Burn Out on LOP

I probably should’ve written this post long before now. 😅 So, here we go.

Once again, another November has arrived and with it a subsequent drop off in players on my local LOP server. And while I’m certainly a proponent of real life being FAR MORE important than any fantasy world (game or otherwise), I have begun wonder if that is the real reason that has deterred so many players from returning. Or if it’s something else.

I’ll admit, I even have my days where I’m ready to throw in the towel on LOP and never sign on again. Just gone. But more often than not it’s just a product of the day or season I’m in at the moment. I’m not bored or tired of LOP, I just don’t want to sign on because I have something else I’d rather do, like sleep at reset. 😅 Anyway, my following tips are more for those who fall into this category, haven’t really decided if your done with LOP yet, but looking to rejuvenate your passion for the game. (Obviously, if you’ve made up your mind to stop playing, I know there’s no amount of convincing I can do to make you stay.)

TIP 1: TAKE A BREAK

Seriously. Whatever “break” means for you, whether it is simply a decrease in the amount of times you sign on in a day or for a few consecutive days, try it out. Do something else with your time! You may find that a little switch up in your routine is just what you needed to get your head back in the game. That, and I’m also convinced that the old saying “absence makes the heart grow fonder” doesn’t just apply to a people. 😉😆

TIP 2: MAKE SOME NEW GOALS

Goals are great motivators. Wanna finally snag a quick rank title? Go for it! Start saving up the resources you need and execute it. I think you’ll find, like me, that having a new goal to work towards makes LOP refreshing in a sense.

TIP 3: RE-EXPLORE THE APP AGAIN

I’m surprised how often I can find something I forgot I was going to do in LOP and end up passing a great deal of time completing that task. Like the regalia stories. 🤪 I love and hate those things, but it’s hilarious to see the outfit combinations you come up with! 🤣

Like this masterpiece! 😘

Or customizing your land. This has always been a selling feature for me in any game I’ve played. I love reorganizing virtual worlds to pass the time if there’s nothing else pressing going on.

Another option: playing all those mini games in the cat area. Why play similar games in another app when you can do it in LOP and reap further in-game benefits? (Okay, so those other apps probably have a better UI and functionality, but we’re not talking about them! 😆) I really like LOP’s match-3 and bubble pop game more so than other renditions I’ve played over the years.

I could keep going with examples, but you get the idea.

TIP 4: TRY SWITCHING UP WHETHER F2P OR P2P

Indulge for once or try to control your impulses for a stint of time. You may find this change up makes you appreciate different aspects about the game you didn’t realize before.

TIP 5: GET COMPETITIVE

I guess this is kind of in-line with tip 2 above, but I’ve found competition to be a great motivator for me. Even if I’ve fallen flat on my face several times over the past two years in this game, I love the rush I get from going all out for something! Okay, okay. So it is also really nice when you are able to claim a title without trying too hard for it, too. 😅 But I really do like that mad dash at the end of an event, especially when you know you’ve got it! 😏

TIP 6: STAY CREATIVE

Not that I play LOP so much for the dress up aspect of the game, but changing my outfit on a somewhat regular basis also keeps me engaged for some reason. I’m not sure if it’s the creative aspect of it or what exactly. I rarely share my outfits with the server, so I know it’s not necessarily an attention grab. I guess maybe similar to me in real life, I like to figure out what neat outfit I can create with what I have on hand in my virtual closet. Especially, with those random non-outfit collection pieces you get from the free boxes. I do wonder half of the time why a lot of those articles were designed in the first place. 😅

So that’s it. I hope these help you make a decision to keep playing LOP if you’re on the fence about it. I know it has me. 😆 Until next time.
