Duan Wu Carnival Recap

And once again, another LOP iconic recipe event came and I was unprepared. 😫 I’ll make Zongzi some day...

The Dragon Boat Festival. This is my third time celebrating the event in LOP. Didn’t take advantage of anything the first time, got the recipe and Wrapped Tight outfit I missed the previous time, and was really looking forward to the event this year. Mostly because of the boat race game! I loved the 8-bit look, how easy it was to maneuver the boat, and how many free chances you got. It was in a lot of ways, the perfect LOP mini game.

So when I opened the app at reset last week to find the new Duan Wu Carnival event icon, and then saw the dragon boat and the sorting game, I was sort of excited to have two games to earn some easy points towards the scenes. And then I clicked on the boat race button...

Not to toot my own horn, but I’m a pretty decent gamer when it comes to a variety of games and mini games. Mastering learning curves fairly easily and able to score relatively well. But this mini game, I don’t even know where to begin. It was unresponsive, glitched, could never get into a groove, seemingly no rhyme or reason to when you got a good or perfect hit. It was horrible! I always placed 4th, and found it was by far the most unforgiving mini game I’ve played in LOP to date.

All that said, I decided I was only going to spend the ingots to play the game 15 times to snag the chat frame and get the majority of my points from the sorting game.

Now that mini game went over a lot more smoothly for me. It was fairly easy to get the maximum points, so long as I didn’t get trigger happy with my thumbs. 😅 Oh and before I forget, I wanted to mention something about the 10x and 20x multipliers. While you will accumulate your points faster and more conveniently, you are NOT really getting a price break on ingots. I tend to forget this every time this shows up for a special event. So if you’re trying to spend your ingots sparingly, it might be worth the time play individual games instead of using the multipliers. But hey, what do I know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway, because I was a little strapped for ingots and not willing to top up this round, I figured I would spend enough to get the 3 “gift” items, and then figure out what I wanted from the point shop.

Which was really tricky for me. I ultimately went with the Summer Thunder home scene and the Silken Landscape dress. It’s what made me happy. 😅
